Cooling Paper may Lower AC Usage
The paper is coated with a thin material reflecting heat away from the paper’s surface. This means that when the sun shines on the paper, it will reflect most of the sunlight and heat away instead of absorbing it. The researchers have also added a layer of nanoparticles to the paper that helps it to cool even further by absorbing heat from the air around it.

Benefits of Liquid Desiccant Energy Efficient Air Conditioning
Liquid Desiccant Energy-efficient air conditioning is an innovative technology meant to save cost and energy by effectively controlling the humidity in the atmosphere. The liquid desiccant absorbs the moisture before cooling its dew point air since it comprises a concentrated salt solution. It works more effectively on hot-humid applications where Case doors do not allow condensation. Most industries will embrace the use of liquid desiccants due to the following reasons.

EPA Drastically cutting Potent Gases
The EPA has decided to drastically cut potent greenhouse gases. The EPA says these chemicals, like hydro fluorocarbons (HFCs) and per fluorocarbons (PFCs), cause global warming by trapping heat in the Earth’s atmosphere. HFCs are used in air conditioners and refrigerators, while PFCs are used in the foam of every airplane and car. There is a four year grace period for companies that use these chemicals to adapt. Many people believe this action is too late, as measures to combat global warming should have been put in place a long time ago. It aims to reduce HFC production and usage in the United States by 85 percent over the next 15 years as part of a global phase out to combat global warming. By 2050, it is predicted to reduce harmful emissions by the equivalent of 4.5 billion metric tons of CO2, which is equivalent to three years’ worth of emissions from the US power sector. Over the next 30 years, switching to safer alternatives and more energy-efficient cooling systems is estimated to save more than $270 billion in costs and improve public health.

Looking Into How EPA Rule phases out HFC Emissions
HFC emissions are more dangerous as compared to carbon dioxide, such that they can warm the planet at a faster rate. The EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) is currently working on ensuring everything is in check such that global warming won’t be a major issue.

IOT improves HVAC Efficiency
The Internet Of Things (IOT) can take HVAC system efficiency to the next level, reducing energy costs and increasing sustainability. Utilizing the technologies associated with the IOT, heating and cooling systems can fine tune function like never before. These micro-adjustments can result in significant energy cost savings, with some seeing as much as a 30 percent reduction in their energy bills. Indeed, making the shift to smart HVAC system has the potential to pay for itself over time.

Intelligent HVAC systems are Huge for Building Automation
Advanced controls for heating, ventilation and air conditioning have taken home technology to another level. HVAC use sensor mechanism and the control strategy that is linked to a server system, it is able to able modulate temperature levels, flow rates, capacity and many more. This technology also can continuously adapt operations to suit the demand and detect faults which require maintenance.

How Commercial Buildings are Taking COVID-19 Into Consideration
It seems COVID-19 is something people may have to just deal with. This doesn’t mean people should jump into the fire because you can’t escape but rather figure out ways to avoid getting burned. Thankfully, commercial buildings are evolving to meet this new world.

What is Portable Cooling Technology and Why Should You Care About It?
Some units come with an evaporative technology that doesn’t leave any water for you to drain. Whereas, others come with a drain pipe or water bucket that helps you flow out the gathered water at a location of your choice or chuck it out after a few days, respectively.
